Thee Sacred Souls: KCRW Live from HQ
San Diego souldies crew Thee Sacred Souls have garnered quite the reputation for their rapturous live shows drawing big, multi-generational crowds. They bring their special sauce to The Annenberg Performance Studio at KCRW HQ with smooth renditions of fan favorites from their 2022 self-titled debut album, plus standalone singles including “Love is the Way,” “Will I See You Again,” and “Easier Said Than Done.” And the brand-new Northern Soul-inspired cut “Running Away” is sure to inspire some serious spontaneous dance moves.
We also catch up with band members Alex Garcia, Josh Lane, and Sal Samano over lunch to learn fun facts like who loves scaling hotel walls and who's most likely to skip town in the middle of the night.
Queue up the extended audio to hear bonus track “Future Lover” and a post-set wind down with Anthony Valadez talking influences from Toro y Moi to Nick Hakim, and the perhaps the most wholesome tale of sliding into DMs that you’re ever gonna hear.
